{"id":1232,"date":"2025-11-04T13:56:17","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T13:56:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brhrd.be\/?p=1232"},"modified":"2025-11-06T13:18:58","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T13:18:58","slug":"qatar-press-statement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.brhrd.be\/?p=1232","title":{"rendered":"Qatar | Press Statement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>November 4, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Brussels for Human Rights &amp; Development (BHRD) Affirms the Inseparable Link Between Social Development and Human Rights at the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A delegation from <strong>Brussels for Human Rights &amp; Development (BHRD)<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>Belgium<\/strong> \u2013 participated in the <strong>Second World Summit for Social Development \u2013 Doha 2025<\/strong>, organized by the <strong>United Nations General Assembly<\/strong> and hosted by the <strong>State of Qatar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BHRD emphasized the vital importance of this summit, underscoring that social development is not merely an economic or political objective, but a <strong>fundamental pillar of universal and indivisible human rights<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Importance of Social Development and Human Rights<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Comprehensive social development is the path to ensuring human dignity, while combating poverty, hunger, and displacement constitutes a set of basic rights requiring urgent international action.<br>The right to decent work and the right to a healthy environment are integral components of the fundamental rights every person should enjoy.<br>Failing to achieve social development is, in essence, a failure to uphold human dignity and protect human rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Promoting Cooperation and Strategic Partnerships<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The summit comes within the framework of <strong>BHRD\u2019s ongoing efforts to build bridges of cooperation<\/strong> and strengthen strategic partnerships with governmental and non-governmental human rights organizations.<br>The organization stressed that <strong>joint efforts and the exchange of expertise<\/strong> remain the most effective means to confront today\u2019s complex humanitarian challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Recognition of UN Leaders\u2019 Participation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The summit witnessed high-level international participation, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>H.E. Annalena Baerbock<\/strong>, President of the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>H.E. Ant\u00f3nio Guterres<\/strong>, Secretary-General of the United Nations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>H.E. Lok Bahadur Thapa<\/strong>, President of the UN Economic and Social Council.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BHRD<\/strong> praised the commitment and vision of global leaders who reaffirmed that <strong>social justice and inclusivity are central to sustainable peace and development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Appreciation to the State of Qatar and a Call for Global Justice<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brussels for Human Rights &amp; Development \u2013 Belgium<\/strong> extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation to <strong>His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani<\/strong>, Amir of the State of Qatar, for graciously hosting and excellently organizing this world summit, which provided a platform to advance dialogue on <strong>social development and global equity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Qatar\u2019s Address and Human Rights Issues<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BHRD<\/strong> commended the powerful message delivered by His Highness the Amir, in which he reaffirmed <strong>Qatar\u2019s unwavering support for Palestine and Gaza<\/strong>, describing this stance as a fundamental commitment to the principles of <strong>justice and human rights<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The organization also noted His Highness\u2019s strong condemnation of the <strong>deteriorating humanitarian situation in Sudan<\/strong>, particularly in <strong>El-Fasher<\/strong>, and his urgent appeal to the international community to take immediate action to <strong>stop violations and protect civilians<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brussels for Human Rights &amp; Development (BHRD)<\/strong> reiterates that <strong>human rights are universal and indivisible<\/strong>, and that <strong>peace and stability cannot be achieved without comprehensive social justice<\/strong> that safeguards <strong>human dignity and equality for all<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brussels for Human Rights &amp;
